It's a complicated series of turns, but the ultimate end of the trail for floral customers is bigger, better, and more Brown Florals.
There are now three shops with the name Brown Floral, with a connecting root with Wasatch Floral. All of this happened since April of this year. The best news for the customers to the Holladay Brown Floral store is that it's still in Holladay, only now in a new and enlarged building.
The new showroom is about 3,000 square feet. The old one was about half that size. The new one offers a wide range of opportunities to display and present ideas to buyers.
Something else that is new, points out Mike Reece, operations manager of the Holladay location, "is the `Tree and Trim Warehouse' located next door to the showroom."
Contained in the warehouse is everything a customer could want or need for Christmas decorating - for the home, for the yard, for the office, or for the Christmas tree . . . "And all at greatly reduced prices. From 20 to 70 percent off on some items," said Reece.
Also available is one of the best selections of artificial Christmas trees in the area.
According to Reece, artificial trees are becoming more and more popular with buyers.
Artificial trees at Browns are now 20 percent off. Reece said a good, quality tree would run about $180
"But then we have trees that go up to $2,000. These are trees that are already decorated. Some people want to see what the trees look like decorated."
A popular items at this time of year are the Christmas greens used for accent and decoration. The problem is, in many cases the greens are on the edge of turning brown. They're old and dry. Brown Floral brings these items in fresh . . . "up to four truck loads a week."
Along with the holiday decorations and ornaments, Brown's has a staff that can offer customized decorating.
