City officials have agreed to fund a foundation wall project for the city's fairgrounds.
A foundation wall 12 inches high will be built for a new fairground building and facilities.Initially the city planned to make the wall 6 inches high, but Mayor J. Merrill Hallam said he was concerned that would not allow for any landscaping around the new facility.
Hallam said the cost difference between the two heights is approximately $650. "I don't feel that's too much to pay so there can be some plants and grass around the building."
