Real estate magnate Donald Trump is taking issue with parts of Vanity Fair magazine's cover story on him and his new bride. The article implies his marriage to Marla Maples, mother of his infant daughter, Tiffany, had more to do with improving his personal image in the business world for purposes of "The Comeback" than it did with a lifetime commitment. It also said Maples signed a five-year prenuptial agreement, settling for $1 million if they split while it remains in effect, but preferring to hope that its expiration date lapses and they live happily ever after. In a statement attributed to Trump but written in the third person, the Donald said he "thinks the Ed Klein article . . . is good from a business standpoint" but "there are certain aspects that have been mis-rep-resented and distorted con-cern-ing his personal life. Mr. Trump married Marla Maples because he loves her and not for any possible business reasons." He also said statements attributed to his mother, Mary Trump, in which she reportedly encouraged him to go back to his first wife, Ivana, were "misquoted entirely" and untrue.
