Tage Manfred Nyman, a good and industrious man completed his earthly labors, Oct 8, 1998.

His determination to live life to it's fullest was demonstrated every step of his way. At a very young age music sparked his soul and he used it as a tool to propel him through the dance of life. This motif was evident throughout his time here. He accepted life's challenges and rejoiced in its gifts.Born at Tittebo, Orsos socken, Alvsborgs lan, Sweden October 30, 1918, he emigrated to the United States in 1947. Returning to Sweden 15 times, he maintained his strong family ties and the traditions of his youth. A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he was a founding member of the Swedish Branch in Salt lake City where he fulfilled many callings. As a member of the Swedish Male Chorus he had the opportunity to travel widely.

He married Agnes Viola Johansson in 1942 and they celebrated fifty years of marriage. They had two sons, Lars Peter and John Erick. Following Viola's passing, he found another dance partner and married Alyce M. Smith in 1993. Alyce brought six more children into his life. Both families were richly blessed by this new association. Always a builder, in 1962 he served a building mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Brussels and Stockholm. He was involved in the construction of many significant buildings in the Salt Lake area. He felt he had not earned his way if he had not put in a hard days labor. While he was building he was always thinking of ways to maximize his efforts and became a successful businessman.

His natural gift for music brought joy to the lives of many and he welcomed every opportunity to perform or to learn a new instrument. He had a wonderful voice and was called upon to perform innumerable times. His cheerful nature and ready smile enriched many lives. He was selfless and generous, always willing to lend a hand.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, children, grandchildren and sisters. He is survived by five sisters, two sons, six step-children, 32 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 2 p.m. at South Cottonwood Stake 4th Ward, 981 East 5600 South (Revere Circle). Friends may call Sunday, 5-7 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Monday at the church, 1-1:45 p.m. Interment, Holladay Memorial Park.
