Rapper Kid Rock plans to remember Joseph Calleja, his small sidekick who died last year, with a tribute during his concerts.
"The first few shows are going to be pretty tough playing without him," said Kid Rock, who won favorite pop/rock male artist at Monday's American Music Awards. "We're going to do a nice tribute to him every night," he said.
Calleja, known as Joe C., was 26 when he died in November. His short stature was the result of a lifelong illness, celiac disease, a digestive disorder that required him to take more than 60 pills a day. Calleja provided vocals on Kid Rock's multiplatinum 1998 album, "Devil Without a Cause."
