— HEIGHT: The twin towers were each 1,350 feet tall.
— COST: Roughly $1.25 billion.
— RENTABLE SPACE: 12 million square feet of rentable office space; some 1,200 companies and organizations leased space.
— WORKERS: Roughly 50,000 people were employed in the twin towers.
— TOURISTS: On average, 90,000 tourists and business visitors each day.
— HISTORY: Development of a downtown Manhattan World Trade Center was recommended in 1960; the complex was dedicated in 1973; final completion of twin towers in 1976.
