OGDEN-<! > Dr. Lynn Robinson died Sunday, January 20, 2002, at home in Ogden following an extended illness.
He was born March 24, 1931, in Salt Lake City, a son of Gene and
Leone Bennion Robinson.
Lynn graduated from Ogden High School in 1949, attended Weber College and graduated from the University of Utah in 1953. He graduated from the University of Maryland Medical School, Baltimore, in 1957. He interned in pediatrics at Primary Children's Hospital and the University of Utah Medical Center. He served a residency specializing in otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat) at the University of Oregon Medical School, Portland, from 1959 to 1963.
Lynn began practicing medicine in Ogden in 1963. He served as an adjunct clinical professor at the University of Utah School of Medicine on a volunteer basis. Dr. Robinson retired in 1993 due to health reasons. He married Joanne Stuart in August of 1955. They had five children and were later divorced. Lynn married Kathie McBride Harbertson in 1987.
Dr. Robinson was a member of the Ogden Medical Association, Utah Medical Association and the American Medical Association. In addition, he served as Chief of Surgery for Ear, Nose and Throat at McKay-Dee Hospital and was a member of other otolaryngology organizations.
Lynn was an excellent skier and enjoyed swimming, hiking, gardening, photography and collection fine art. He loved children and especially his dog, Toby.
Surviving are his wife, Kathie, of Ogden; his children: Steven Bennion Robinson, Phoenix, Ariz.; Richard Stuart (Barbara) Robinson, Salt Lake City; Douglas Gene (Valerie) Robinson and Julie (Dar) Nelson, both of Ogden; Nathan James (Kristin) Harbertson, Park City; Brittany Harbertson, and Aimee (Michael) Galbraith, both of Ogden. He is also survived by his grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Hailee, Chelsea, Jace, Cory, Boston, Beck, Kaden, Cameron, Emma and Lauren. Lynn is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Bennion (Kay) Robinson, Palm Desert, Calif.; and two sisters, Marilyn (John) Holt, Salt Lake City; and Carol (Richard) Borgmeier, Bountiful. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Joan Robinson; and his son, Brian Lynn Robinson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Jack Brown officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday
10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Weber State University College of Health Professions in memory of Lynn Robinson. Lynn was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and healer. His loving hands touched countless families in the community. Throughout your life, you were selfless and humble and always gave of yourself to help others. We are glad that you are relieved of your pain and suffering. You are free to start your climb up Mt. Ogden. Forever in our hearts Popo!
