SALINA, UTAH <! > - Berva Dawn Holdaway Malmgren, age 67, died May 25, 2004 in Provo, Utah.
She was born January 1, 1937 in Glenwood, Utah, a daughter of Royal Lynn and Bernice Sampson Holdaway. She graduated from North Sevier High School.
Berva married Lyle Robert Malmgren, April 16, 1954 in Salina, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple January 5, 1980.
Berva was an active member of the Salina 2nd Ward. She had many callings. She and her husband attended the Manti LDS Temple regularly. They also home taught prisoners at the Central Utah Correctional Facility in Gunnison, Utah.
Berva's favorite hobby was sharing activities with her lifelong companion, spouse and most of all, best friend. They spent the winters in Yuma, Arizona where they enjoyed each other and all the activities. She recently learned to play the guitar with her husband at her side with his banjo. She enjoyed riding four-wheelers, trips and family gatherings.
Berva is survived by her husband, Bob, of Salina; children: Debra and Brent Newby, Bobbi and Kent Sylvester, Scott and Lori Malmgren, all of Salina; Bruce and Sandy Malmgren of Aurora; Kerri Weaver of St. George; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law: Fern Nielsen of Centerfield; brothers and sister: Dean and Gwen Holdaway of Hurricane; Ivan and Phyllis Holdaway of Las Vegas, NV; Veryl and Bonnie Holdaway of West Valley City; Gary and Deanne Holdaway of Carpenteria, CA; Lynn and Virginia Holdaway of Colorado Springs, CO; Gaylan and Marleah Holdaway of Boise, ID; Shirleen and Ross Harward of Salina. She was preceded in death by her parents, Royal Lynn and Bernice Sampson Holdaway; a granddaughter, Brittney Bo Sylvester and a grandson, Lenny Brent Newby.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 29, 2004 at 12 Noon in the Salina LDS Stake Center, 98 West 400 North in Salina, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Salina Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
