Charles Ichiro Inouye 1914 ~ 2006 Our loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Charles Inouye passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 19, 2006, at the age of 92. He was born on July 1, 1914 in Alviso, California, the only son of Sashichi and Mikano Inouye. During the Second World War, he was sent with his family to the Heart Mountain Relocation Camp near Cody, Wyoming. There he met and married Bessie Shizuko Murakami on March 8, 1943. Following the War, they farmed in Sigurd and Gunnison, Utah. Converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they were sealed to their children in the Manti Temple, and sent all on missions to Japan. Charles is survived by his sister Ruth (Mike) Aoki; five children-Dillon (Jeanne), Dwight (Jeannie), Warren (Susan), Elizabeth Ann (Roman) Takasaki, and Charles (Rei); 20 grandchildren and six great-grand children. He was preceded only two months earlier by his beloved wife Bessie; his parents, daughter Charlotte, and sisters Helen Mitarai and Mary Suenaga. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gunnison 1st Ward LDS Chapel. Friends may call at the Ward Chapel in Gunnison on Fri. from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at the Ward Chapel on Sat. from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in the Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 E. 7800 S., Salt Lake City, UT.
