Time's ticking to file a tax return to get government money waiting for you.

With taxes due Tuesday, retirees, disabled veterans and low-income residents can get free tax help Saturday to file a return so they can get an economic-stimulus check worth up to $600 per adult, and $300 for each of their children.

Locations are: Social Hall Plaza, 50 S. 200 East in Salt Lake City; and in Ogden at 324 25th St. and Provo at 173 E. 100 North. The hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The IRS also will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to offer assistance through toll-free help line at 1-800-829-1040.

Families earning less than $40,000 a year also may be eligible for free tax services, including whether they can receive up to $4,500 in the Earned Income Tax Credit. Sites for tax help on that are available from Brigham City to St. George. Visit www.utahtaxhelp.org/findsite.aspx for a list.
