Richard M. Taylor, 87, Spanish Fork attorney, died May 6, 2010. He was born March 2, 1923, in Provo, UT, to Marion R. and Josephine Crandall Taylor.

His parents located in Spanish Fork when he was an infant, and he attended local schools, graduating from Spanish Fork High School.

His undergraduate study at BYU was interrupted by service in the U.S. Army during World War II, in Europe. After his return he studied at Stanford University, where he received his B.S. and J.D. degrees.

He was admitted to practice law in California and Utah. His law office was located in Spanish Fork for 57 years. He was active in community affairs and civic groups, and was a past District Governor of Rotary, District 5420 (Utah).

He was a member of the LDS church, serving in ward and stake positions, including scouting and bishopric callings. He loved music, and sang with The Mormon Tabernacle Choir for nine years.

Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Lucille, and their children, Douglas and Peggy Taylor, Susan and Robert Hansen, James R. and Lisa Taylor, Mary and Kendal Bosen, Martha and Vernon H. Kirk, and John S. and

Erika Taylor, and by 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Survivors also include his brother, David A. (Sally) Taylor, Patricia (Paul) Cook, and Merle Maier. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Elizabeth Porter.

There will be a private memorial service. The family suggest that, in lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Taylor's memory may be made to the LDS Church Humanitarian Fund or to the Rotary Foundations. Condolences may be sent to
