Six Flags has some new plans in mind for when it reopens after the coronavirus pandemic, including booked trips paid for in advance.
The details:
- As USA Today reported, Six Flags will likely require visitors to make advanced reservations in order to keep tabs on attendance. Limited attendance will help the park keep social distancing measures in mind, too.
- Guests can book reservations online at SixFlags.com/Reserve when the park opens and adds its new opening dates.
- Guests will need to schedule a day and a time for the park.
What they’re saying:
Six Flags President and CEO Mike Spanos said in a release safety remains the priority.
- “The health and safety of our guests and team members is always our highest priority and in the current environment, we certainly want to take extra precautions to create a safe experience for everyone. We are excited about reopening our parks and getting back to the business of fun; however, we want to do so in the safest possible manner. By having guests preregister before they visit, we can plan ahead with proper staffing and sanitization measures, including ensuring that guests and team members maintain safe social distancing throughout the day.”
Mark Kupferman, Six Flags’ vice president of insights and interactive marketing, told USA Today adding a bunch of people at once would ruin social distancing requirements.
- “We don’t want everyone to show up at 10 a.m.”
- “People used to be able to just buy a ticket and show up. Now it’s going to require a little more advanced planning and effort,” he told USA Today. “It’s not optimal, but it is absolutely going to be worth it for the guest. It’s about helping people feel good when they come to the parks so they can enjoy their day and not spend it worrying.”
