The first batch of tickets to tour the flagship temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during its upcoming open house and celebration will become available Sept. 1.

The historic Salt Lake Temple’s open house and celebration, scheduled for April 5 through Oct. 1, 2027, will mark the reopening of the landmark temple.

The church is inviting millions of guests from around the world to experience the renewed 19th-century building, following more than 6 ½ years of renovations.

The church is also inviting people worldwide to participate in the six-month celebration through virtual experiences and will offer a variety of exhibits, performances and other activities on Temple Square. Applications to volunteer and be part of the temple celebration are still open.

Volunteer scheduling options expand for historic Salt Lake Temple celebration

The first batch of tickets to tour the renovated Salt Lake Temple will become available Sept. 1 at 11 a.m. MDT on TempleSquare.org and the church’s Temple Square app. More tickets will become available in future releases.

To accommodate as many guests as possible, individual guests may reserve up to six tickets each, per a church press release. Guests seeking tickets for larger groups — including family reunions, church groups or community organizations — can submit a reservation request.

Tour times throughout the six-month celebration are scheduled from 8:40 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

What’s new and coming to Temple Square

Accessibility accommodations will be available, including language support, assistive listening options and services for guests with mobility, vision, hearing and other needs, according to the church’s release.

Reservations are recommended for the temple tours but are not required for the broader Salt Lake Temple celebration. Guests may participate in various experiences on Temple Square without a reservation.
