What’s new at Delta Center for Utah Jazz fans this season

When Utah Jazz fans attend their next game at the Delta Center, the team won’t be the only new and improved aspect of the experience.

Smith Entertainment Group has completed Phase 2 of its renovation plan to convert the Delta Center into a dual-sport arena after 143 days of construction. SEG opened the doors to the media on Friday for a tour, on the eve of the Utah Mammoth’s first preseason home game.

“The overall goal was to build it so every seat had great sightlines. The second goal was to create new experiences,” Jim Olson, Smith Entertainment Group’s president of real estate, said.

Many of the arena improvements focused on enhancing the viewing experience on the north end for Mammoth fans, creating terrace style seating with unobstructed views, but SEG also wanted to preserve the basketball atmosphere that the Delta Center is known for.

“The biggest challenge is, especially for us, we have such great sightlines for basketball, and it’s very important to protect those sightlines for basketball and we did that,” Olson said.

Olson added that the group will continue to preserve the basketball sightlines during next summer’s renovations.

The official seating capacity for Jazz games dropped to 17,867 for this season as the Delta Center now has “the steepest sightlines of any dual-sport arena in professional sports,” according to SEG. As such, fans wary of heights should take note when purchasing seats in the north end and upper levels.

Adjacent to the arena, the new parking garage offers 439 parking spaces.

The first chance for Jazz fans to experience the new-look arena will be on Oct. 5 at 5 p.m. when the team holds an open practice. As has been the case in recent years, the practice is free and does not require a ticket.

New Delta Center concessions options

The Delta Center will feature 18 local food vendors, the most in the arena’s history, for the 2026-2027 Jazz and Mammoth seasons.

The following concessions will be added:

• Apollo Burger in Portal R.
• Brucie’s Berries in Portal S.
• Cafe Rio in Portal D.
• Chomp Donuts & Coffee in Portal XX.
• Dangerous Pretzels on Level 5A.
• Jurassic Taco in Portal DD.
• Marley’s Burgers in Portal TT.
• R&R BBQ in Portal K.

Having sampled a few of the new concessions, this reporter would recommend the R&R BBQ’s chicken nachos, Dangerous Pretzels’ salty pretzel dog and Brucie’s Berries strawberries and cream cup (Disclaimer: I am not a food critic).

The Mountain Menu will also return for another season, providing more affordable concession options for fans.

Fans attending multiple Jazz games this season may want to consider the new HydroJug Gameday Tumbler program. When they purchase a Jazz HydroJug in the team store for $59.99, fans can refill it for $3 throughout the season on Level 5A.

New Utah Jazz rewards program

Also new for the 2026-2027 season, Jazz and Mammoth fans can enroll in a new free rewards program in the teams’ respective apps.

“Participants will earn rewards on purchases, experiences and memorabilia while attending games and events, streaming on the app or engaging with team content,” according to SEG.
